INTRODUCTION
The Design Problem
How might we create an interactive system for one love fosters to promote their pet with health, behavior, age or breed issues and raise their chance to get adoption?
Our Concept
The goal of PawPals is to increase the exposure of the animals and to trigger emotional connections with potential adopters. We provide a P2P model that can help animal fosters to photo/video shoot the pets and share them thorough community, which all users can browse and check details of pets.

Process

6.5 Million dogs are being sent to the shelters every single years
1.5 million
Animals are eutanized
every year
We were given a social topic: Animal Rights
Many fosters have 10 or more animals at home looking for adoption.

Observation
After narrow down the scope into stray animals, we considered the access to stakeholders in our location, Savannah. we visited and read about organizations such as Humane Society, Savannah National Wildlife Refuge and One Love, closing our scope to domestic pets specifically cats and dogs.
• They provide a good environment for pets, mainly cats and dogs, after they got rescued.
• They enable people to adopt pets in lower price, with a complete service of vaccine.
• However, the pets stay in Humane Society for more than three month, will be euthanized.
One Love Animal Rescue is an organization that does not own any physical shelters. They have volunteered to rescue animals, hold adoption events, and they mainly depend on fosters to keep the animals. From our primary research, we notice that although One Love is highly organized to hold multiple events buy there’s is this lack of opportunity to meet potential adopters that are aligned with the animal with difficulty causing the event to unmet Foster’s expectations. Holding multiple events every week but unable to find adopters in more than three years.
Fosters are a group of people who help to keep stray animals in their house and taking care of them, and regularly take them into adoption events, until they got adopted.
Journey Map
After understand our Scope, we set up design principles to guide our future design:
• Our design should promote animal rights by supporting fosters activity
• Our design should not harm animal rights that oppose to fosters personal value.
• Our design should be easy to use.Eventually, we hold a workshop to generate over 50 insights and ideas.
We decided to have following features:
1. Video shooting: using filters to make pets more adorable, increase the exposure of pets.
2. A stream social platform for users(mainly fosters, but normal users also can share) to post the videos with the link of adoption, to increase the adoption rate of pets.
3. Studio: Video editing function, which enable all range user can edit video in easy way, increase the usability and possibilities to share.
4. Social Media sharing: instead of creating a new friend zone, we decided to use users’ own friend circle, which is other social media, to increase the exposure of pets.
